Fine Art Eradication

When we pulled up at the Murwillambah Info Centre, I misread the logo emblazoned on all the vehicles as “Fine Art Eradication”. In fact, it was those evil Brazilian fire ants that were unwanted, and Murwillambah has no objection to fine art. The eradicators were having a tea break by the river, and in their fiery tops looked something like their prey. The nice chap pictured in the extra told us all about the problem (and their solution).

As it turned out, the tourist info centre had moved - so totally enmeshed in the rail trail that has taken over all touristic focus in the area, that is now colocated with all the bike hire shops next to the start of the trail (the old Murwillambah Station). We were very tempted to ride the trail, but too stingy to splash out on bike hire (we would have taken a Goodies style tandem, but there were only expensive e-bikes) so we just walked two different sections, leaving no energy to explore the container art so enthusiastically promoted by the “tourist ambassador” we met.

So instead, here’s my take on some produce in the delicious cheese shop in the centre of town, where we grabbed a delicious toastie for a very late lunch. Not very abstract (sorry Ingeborg), but did make me think of those famous soup tins.
