The Chickens Have Already Got to The Other Side

Today's image is a play on the common riddle joke "Why did the did the chicken cross the road?" with the answer being, "To get the the other side." It is commonly seen as an example of anti-humour, in that the curious setup of the joke leads the listener to expect a traditional punchline, but they are instead given a simple statement of fact. The joke has become iconic as an exemplary generic joke to which most people know the answer, and has been repeated and changed numerous times over the course of history.
There are many variations on this riddle that assume familiarity with it and the answer but with an alternative punchline, such as "it was too far to walk around" or enlists another creature other than a chicken to cross the road - examples being a duck or a turkey crosses "because it was the chicken's day off" or a dinosaur crosses "because chickens didn't exist yet".
In my image I have allowed the chickens to already get to the other side but it is pedestrians and cyclists that have been encouraged not to do so due to the illuminated red warnings on the pedestrian crossing sign! :-)
