Sally’s Bottom

This evening I walked the North Cornwall coast path between Portreath and Porthtowan which is about 3 miles each way. This is Sally’s Bottom. A capstone here with a small brass plaque marks the bottom shaft of the Wheal Sally mine. There are still the remains of some old mine buildings and on either side a steep climb.
