Highs and Lows
A working day in London with a difference. I joined around 500 other colleagues doing a London City Walk, raising money for the charity Crisis supporting their pursuit of ending homelessness in the UK. There was a choice of 12 or 20 mile routes circumnavigating central London, I'd elected to do the 20 mile route. It was a glorious day, sunny and warm but with enough cloud cover we didn't get cooked. All went very well until around 15 miles in when my mobile phone was snatched by a passing cyclist. It happened in a flash, I had no idea what was going on until I suddenly had a massive sense of loss! There was nothing I could do to recover the phone of course, a colleague lent me another phone so I could call Annie and get the numbers to call to block the phone and remotely wipe it. That done, I cracked on and finished the 20 miles, no reason not to.
Once home, the police were contacted and the wheels were put in motion for a replacement phone (grateful for the insurance I've never used previously!!).
Over the past 24 hours I've found its like losing a limb not having the phone. So many things now need the phone and can be tricky without it. Be careful out there.
