Turtle Rock Trail

A morning with no school and it was beautiful. I wanted to get up to Veedauwoo (pronounced Veedavoo) a National Forest area pretty much in our backyard, before the bugs and tourists got too thick. I should have gotten up there around 8:00 and I might have had a chance to see a moose but it was about 9:15 when I finally arrived. It is a short 3 mile hike but I could tell it was all I needed to do. I'm still not 100 percent on my energy. The flowers were amazing. I put an extra in of Indian Paintbrush our state flower. I also heard a beautiful Hermit Thrush singing which I know from Maine. It must be traveling through but it was so sweet to hear it sing. I realize from looking at the Cornell site that they breed in this area. Cool!!
