Inverleith pond
Swim first thing. Distinctly cool out; people back in padded jackets. Later in the morning heard then counted a skein of 22 geese (either greylag or pinkfeet, by the call) passing over; late departure, or they've decided not to migrate north this year ?
Out again mid afternoon. Took two maps to the framer, then went on to the pond. Male adult swan patrolling around the tiny island, which is barely above water level; female preening then sitting in the reeds. Some tufted ducks diving, and swallows swooping over the water. First time of seeing swallows there this year. 14C in the West wind. Watched people and dogs with cups of tea from the Milk stand.
