Unexpected loveliness!

We snuck in one more sleepover on the boat last night - I was super organised and took their uniforms on board on Sunday. They were even joined by a seal whilst they had their breakfast on the deck!

After we'd dropped them at school, hubby went to work and I had to drive to Exeter to get the car fixed. I was dreading it as it is meltingly hot here today. However, just around the corner from the industrial estate was the most fabulous walk along the river Exe and back along the canal. I found this pub where I sat in the shade with a lime and soda and watched the doggies cooling off in the water. I then walked into the city centre and around the cathedral (they had to get a part for the wretched car so it took longer than expected) and enjoyed lunch on the quay. All in all it was all pretty lovely, though hot, and I put in some miles too!
