Flower Festival…

at the village Congregational Church started today and continues over the weekend.

On Friday morning the church holds the Tittle Tattle Tea shop which I attend a couple of times a month so knowing the flower festival was on I went up early this morning thinking it might be busy. It was steady and largely the usual people who attend but there will possibly be more tomorrow.

Each window had a display plus there were others  dotted around the room and in the entrance like this one here near one of the pillars. I really liked this display from Ivy House Farm in the village - J Crowther’s dairy from where we still get our milk delivered. The milk churn takes me back to my life on a similar dairy farm as a child just a couple of mikes away in the next village. These churns filled with milk were collected from the farm daily and taken to Associated Dairies for processing - our own milk came straight from the cow.
I also love the wild flowers used, buttercups and Cow Parsley, so this one is my choice to blip.

Lots of themes and village organisations did displays. Our own church, St Saviour’s and the local am dram group, Harden Players had them. Also the groups I come to at this church, the Tittle Tittle Tea Shop, the Book Group and Pilates.
You can just see a lady behind this display, she’s doing a refreshment stall, but she runs the discussions and reflections at the tea shop and runs Book Group. She directed a lot of the plays we have participated in over the years at both churches, both independent of and part of the Harden Players.

I hope they have a successful couple of days for the church with all the effort that has been put in.

Other blippers were there so I’m sure you will see more examples of the displays
