Stonechat
I went for a solo walk back on home territory and well frankly walked to far and ran out of puff. I had to sit for a few minutes to recover but then got going again for the last 20 mins of around 3 hours.
It was an excellent walk in bright condition but very windy away from the sheltered first section. That first section was marvellous for birds Stonechat(photo is a Female), Wheatear, Whinchat, Skylark, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Curlew, Meadow Pipit and Wren. In the sky Swifts outnumbered the Swallows and a single House Martin.
Passing through Rowarth there were more of the common birds and then a Dipper on a very small stream.
I met no people at all until the village and my only conversation was with a dog walker on the last 10 minutes walk back to the car he was good company and quizzed me on the birds I had seen.
Back home straight into a traffic jam in the town!
