FLOWER FRIDAY IN OUR GARDEN
I was excited today because I had asked Mr. HCB if he would “allow” me to go out on my own and he said I could. That may not sound a big deal to many of you, but to someone who is so independent, it was huge.
As I am not driving yet, although I think I could, as my eyesight is getting better all the time, he took me over to a Retail Park where I had a great time - I do think that keeping off my computer and phone have helped in this respect though.
I do love a bargain, and when I went into Boots, found a pair of sunnies reduced from £39.99 to £5! As if that wasn’t enough, I had points on my Boots card to pay for them - so they cost me absolutely nothing - now that is a bargain! See extra selfie shot.
When I had had enough, and after a cup of coffee in Costa, I rang Mr. HCB and he kindly came and collected me. He was very tired, having worked in the garden since early this morning, so whilst he had a little nap, I went out into the garden and had a good look round. We are really thrilled with the way the “meadow” is coming on and the Ox-eye Daisies look wonderful dancing in the breeze.
You can see them in the top picture and then I took some more shots of various flowers in the garden; the Nigella, looking pretty in blue and David’s Rose, next to it, which was given to me by David’s sister, after he died almost 18 years ago - it blooms every year to remind us of him.
Underneath the rose is a Baptisia, which has taken a few years to settle in, but which is now going well and last, but not least, a beautiful Peony. We are so blessed to have such a lovely garden, and as you all know, Mr. HCB works very hard out there - I just wish I could do more, but I do cook him some lovely meals!
Thank you for all your kind comments, stars and hearts - which are very much appreciated. Hope you all have a great weekend. M xx
