The Intrepid Traveller

This is Ian - As kids we grew up together and he was my best mate at school.  He comes from farming stock but has been a mechanic all his life.
In 1999 he was asked to fly out to Johannesburg to bring back a Land Rover for a friend.  He had to abandon the return journey so he rang home and asked his son to send out his Honda Africa Twin motorcycle so that he could have a look around South Africa and then return home. He didn't get back until 2013 - 14 years and 350,000 miles later.
I just called in a local garage this morning and there he was. It was great so see him again.
A few years ago he was interviewed for a American motorcycle program - his story is quite amazing and it portrays exactly Ian's outlook on life - but beware - he has a very, very strong Yorkshire accent ......this is his story.
