Passengers in Motion ...

... in Glasgow Central Station. We were on our way to the Burrell Collection on the outskirts of the city, and this was the view from our seats as we waited for the train to depart. (Fun to view in large). The little girl on the right with the bright pink suitcase stopped afterwards with her mother close in front of us, and it turned out that she could sit on it and propel it with her feet (first time I'd seen that :)

Edit: I just noticed that the pedestrians here echo those in the previous day's blip.

The Burrell Collection was assembled over many years by Sir William Burrell (1861-1958), a Glasgow shipping magnate with highly eclectic tastes. He gave it in 1944 to the City of Glasgow, on the condition that it be housed in a rural setting outside the city, which was then still beset by industrial pollution. The sprawling, award-winning building, full of light, was finally opened only in 1983. The varied collection has plenty of room for display. It's is quite wonderful--we spent several hours, including a sandwich lunch and afternoon coffee.
