Walk with the larks

I always hear the skylarks on my local walk by the fields but rarely see them. Today there were 2 grazing by the roadside so I finally got a close look with my monocular, what lovely little birds! Unfortunately a man in lycra then sped past and they scattered, but at least I had a few minutes. I then saw 2 red kites which I rarely see. There were also 2 detectorists in the field, so a day of pairs!
