Nuptial plumes

I photographed this White-faced Heron on Seven Mile Beach, thinking it looked just a little more striking than usual. Some googling suggested that it's in breeding plumage - Wikipedia says 'During the breeding season pinkish-brown or bronze nuptial plumes appear on the foreneck and breast, with blue-grey plumes appearing on the back'.
