Daisy Under a Blue Summer Sky
This is the time of year when the daisies are really gorgeous. We were at Soaring Eagle Wetland, and we were watching the birds. I stood up from our bench and took a few steps forward, ready to bend down and photograph this daisy from underneath.
. . . and startled a tiny snake, a garter with stripes. Snake and I surveyed each other for about one hot second, and then it slithered instantly away before I could get a single shot. What a delightful little snakey-lick! Then I bent down and took this shot, photographing the rear of the daisy against a blue summer sky.
Also of note: There appears to be a wee little bug on the left stem about half-way down, waving to us. Ohai, little buggy!
Our soundtrack song has to have summer in the title, so here are the Motels, with Suddenly Last Summer.
