If you can't beat them...

Dog Daisy ( Leucanthemum vulgare )

For those puzzled by the English name I am lapsing one again into my native language.  Round my part of Cumberland they were always known as Dog Daisies.  The more common English name seems to be Ox-eye Daisy.

Prepping the Lodge and yet again no need to walk to the bins, we really have some well trained guests  :-))  As a result I looked at our developing "flower meadow" for inspiration.  The diversity of flowers is growing but not as quickly as I would like.  The most pleasing sign is that the Yellow Rattle  ( Rhinanthus minor ) has resulted in two or three groups.  Rattle is known as the Meadow Maker because its semi parasitic nature weakes the grass giving germinating seeds a better chance.

The Dog Daisy appeared as if by magic during Lock Down.  When we were allowed out and about again and went to the Lodge to cut the grass, two good clumps of them had grown.

P.S.   The fly is a free addition to the shot.
