The evening rose

Time was we had lots of evening primroses in our garden, but for now we have only evening roses.

I see a leaf-cutter bee has been at this one! I think it's rather nice viewed large.

Hurrah for the summer weather - just the way it should be, though the water level in our pond is dropping rather alarmingly.
