Works in progress

Another blustery, showery day.
I managed to get out between showers this morning, to record a couple more murals for ArtUK.
The main shows a work by much-loved Sheffield artist Pete McKee; this is 'Joy' from his recent exhibition 'Frank and Joy, a Love Story'. Sadly it has suffered some damage, and is also surrounded by building works and barriers at the moment. I'll be back to take another look when the building work has progressed a bit more.
In the extra is a huge piece of work by the wonderful Peachzz, whose murals I've blipped before. There's a record shot, and also a shot where the mural's reflected in the windows of a local building.
The whole area is part of the 'Heart of the City' project, an attempt by the local council to revitalise Sheffield city centre. Near the Peachzz mural is a lovely new playground, which Eben and Luca have enjoyed - it has some excellent wooden structures, a little climbing wall and a few other good bits of equipment. Fingers crossed for this whole project, which has been bedevilled by funding crises.
Otherwise... I've been very saddened to hear the confirmation of the death of science/medicine presenter Michael Mosley, after he went missing on a Greek island last Wednesday, in intensely hot weather. I've found his BBC podcasts on health both useful and entertaining, always combining humour and energy with evidence-based content.  A sad loss indeed.
