Being Checked Out
The best of the weather was early, though it was still cold for the time of year. I went out to the fields where I can often find red deer in the hope of seeing some of the new calves born earlier this year. While I did see a couple they were at some distance and not worthy of posting an image.
This prickling is in its second year and along with a couple of other young males, was hiding just inside the tree line of one of the fields. I tried to get closer and just managed this shot before it crossed a local brook and headed deep into the wooded area behind.
It's worth checking out Large.
