Zoo time

After the excitement of the concert last night the family opted for a visit to the zoo before heading back south in their different directions.

We had a great time. The wind was occasionally fresh but when the sun came out - which it often did - it was delightful.

So many sights I’ll post more on instagram and Facebook but here are a few of my favourites.

A previous rhino used to get itself stuck in the large old tyres. This one managed to free itself from its feed bucket shortly thereafter.

The sloths were fascinating hanging upside down to feed holding tightly on to the branch with their claws.

The pushme-pull you giraffes looked so graceful and elegant but the backdrop of Edinburgh is incongruous.

The final extra is of the life-sized Lego animals dotted around the site. Very impressive and fun.

To add to the entertainment there were many glittery Swifties visiting ahead of tonight’s - or after yesterday’s concert. (The car park is very conveniently located.)

I dropped those travelling by train at the station mid-afternoon and saw the crowds in the city and at the tram stops.

Back home after dinner we watched the concert at the end of “The Piano” which not only displays some incredible musical talent but also provides several emotional moments. Best feel good TV around at the moment.

Now, after the visitors and the buzz of the grandson keeping us busy, time to catch up!
