Starling

A beautiful summer day, warm and bright. Finally finished cutting the grass and got other work done in the garden before mid- day which was just aswell , beacause after that it was far too warm to work.

A day of relaxing , meals al fresco and the happy sound of the teenagers enjoying themselves in the loch, paddling around in the dinghy for most of the afternoon. Even managed a late evening barbecue , no midges around o spoil or evening. A glass ( or two ) of red wine then back indoors to have a look at today's blips.

It was between this sarling and a heronwhich I surprised as I cam through the hedge at the bottom of the garden. I just had to go with the wonderful colours of the starling , such beautiful creatures sparkling in the sunshine.

Tomorrow we should be heading off for a few days with the camper van, meant togo this afternoon but John's hip was sore today, thank goodness he sees the surgeon for his hip replacement operation in afew weeks time. Today I had a go at driving the camper van in case John's hip is stall toopainful to drive. Driving the van was a bit scary at first but I was surprised at how quickly I settled in to the feel ofthe controls and adjusted to the size of the van on the road. Happy now in case I do have to drive.
