Breakfast at the castle.
Rain is falling steadily, pitter, pattering on the roof as I write from the peaceful wild camping site at Allanaquoitch near Bramaer. ( Mar Lodge )
There were 6 for breakfast, as the photo by the castle shows . We had planned an early set off with a breakfast stop . We swung into a tiny carpark along a narrow road to a castle and received the warmest of welcomes from the castle custodian who put on the kettle , pulled up a chair and charmed us with lively stories. One of those special encounters which leaves each participant refreshed and enlivened. A real character, who had lived in many places and finally found home . The scenery we drove through on our way from the coast into this area was magnificent, we declined to visit Balmoral to pay homage to the king although we drove very close by . J and K had a problem with the casing to their exhaust system but with Daves tools , a wire coat hanger and brute strength they managed to fashion together a solution that worked. It’s been another good day , it’s good to be alongside such amenable folk .
