Pre lunch drinks

I didn’t take any useful photos for Blip because I was fairly flat out today having decided to cook lunch on my own and not do any pre cooking yesterday.   I played it quite safe with the Diana Henry chocolate cake with strawberry and cream preceded by my failsafe chicken with gremolata from the odd John Pawson cook book that I’ve loved for years.  Not surprisingly it all turned out good especially as Jonathan brought extremely good babaganoush and guacamole for starters.  He came from the Isle of Wight, his nephew Rich, V’s student and his friend Domenica, also V’s student and a Polish academic came from London. Actually Domenica came direct from Poland.  

After lunch we went for a decent walk in the woods and they didn’t leave until nearly 8pm.  A good lunch.  

It was sunny in the morning and over lunch but we didn’t eat outside and by the early evening it was cool and windy.  The next few days aren’t looking good. 

By the time we’d cleared up it was time for a bath and bed.
