Fortress Heusden

We have had an interesting day at completely restored fortress city which flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries. A very informative guided tour followed by the local delicacy, a Brabant Worstenbroodje, sausage roll using bread instead of pastry.

Following the history morning we had a boat trip on the river Bergsche Maas. So much of the Netherlands is dominated by water. Many residents seem to have both a car and a boat for transport and goods are transported by barge.
