Birding

As a bit of birdwatching is something that I have indulged in for some time (from the age of 5 or so) and enjoy, this image fits today’s challenge.

A large flock of bar tailed godwit and knott had been spooked and flew around for a while until they could be assured that there was no danger. In the background to the right, part of the Heysham nuclear power station on the other side of Morecambe Bay.

I had an hour or so at the RSPB reserve overlooking the pools and salt marsh. I expected to see a lot of avocet chicks, but they have been heavily predated. Some of the adults are nesting again (extra).
