The long walk home!

After walking the girls to school I got home about 8:50 and rode my bike to Mantra Motorcycles for it's annual MOT and service.
My intention was to walk into town, only about 10 minutes from Kingsholm Rugby stadium (Mantra is right next to it) to the bus station.
I got there qt 09:30 but misread the timetable in that the next bus was due at 0900, I was thinking it was still 08:30 - getting very confused at times, a bit worrying. On the way I took a photograph of the characters and bells above Bakers the Watchmaker and Jewellers where I bought Marlane's engagement ring and also the wedding ring, over 49 years ago. Those bells really do work and they strike on the hour, not sure if they do the quarters.
So, thinking I had half an hour to wait I started walking, on the bus route, to catch the bus further along.
I got about a mile and a half in 40 minutes or so and stopped at another bus stop. Along the way I took a photograph of one of the steep pathways which goes from ground level up to the flyover, on Metz Way if anyone might know it,  Also one of Robinswood Hill in the distance. That is the hill I climbed on 6 June for the beacon lighting. It's about 2 miles away in the photograph. If you can enlarge it you can just about make out the beacon near the smaller hump of a tree left of centre.
So there I am still almost a mile from home and looked at the timetable. There should be a bus along in 5 minutes, I waited for nearly 10 minutes then decided to on to the next stop - yep, the bus went past when I was half way to the next stop. I just continued walking until I got home;
On the brighter side, I had a lot of exercise today and exceeded my normal 7-8,000 steps a day to finish up with a grand total of 12,756 steps. That included the second school walk to pick up the girls.
I then slept for 2.5 hours!
Bike will be ready tomorrow, I think I'll be getting the bus back into town.
I've added an extra, an intercity GWR train waiting at a red light for the platform to become available. A common occurence for the London to Cheltenham train, last stop, before Cheltenham, is Gloucester.
