Last day in Osaka
To put us in tranquil frame of mind for our long journey home (24 hours door to door) we went to Osaka’s Aquarium. I’m never happy about keeping animals in captivity, but this aquarium is one of the best. It has a central tank which is 3 or 4 stories high with several climatic sections, so the fish, mammals and birds have a lot of space to express themselves.
The penguin in the centre of my collage had just waddled over to stand under a snow “shower” and several other penguins were sitting on eggs. The dolphins raced one another around and leapt into the sunshine. A diver worked his way around a tank of sharks and manta rays with a bucket of fish and fed each one individually.
We didn’t have time to go on the ferris wheel or visit Legoland (extra) - they will have to wait until next time…
