Pure joy
The Edinburgh Taxi Outing celebrated its 76th year which sees children with additional needs, life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses go on a day out to the seaside, funded and organised by taxi drivers.
The procession assembled at Edinburgh Zoo's car park where the Lord Provost of Edinburgh judging and presented prizes for best float taxi, best balloon taxi, best fancy-dressed driver and best fancy-dressed child.
Along the route, water fights take place with the kids firing water pistols at onlookers. When they get to Musselburgh, there is a pit stop for well earned ice creams at Lucas, as well as a chance to refill the water pistols.
It’s a day of pure joy for the children and has become a yearly (every second Tuesday in June) Edinburgh tradition. I have added a couple of extras too.
Have a joyful day, as that is what life should be about.
