I ventured out today, to the library to look at some US records on Ancestry. I was delighted to find a 1950 Census entry for her. She worked for a stockbroker on the New York Stock Exchange and his radio actress wife - a far cry from the kind of life she'd have lived if she'd stayed in England. But... 80 hours a week???
I also discovered a broken link to an online obituary, so I've emailed the funeral home to see if they can tell me anything about her. Watch this space!
