The locks at Port Dinorwic
On my way to Poland I have a stop over on London and manage a quick 48 hour trip to Bangor. I haven’t been down to these locks and socks for many years.
In the late 1700s, a dock was built here to load slate from the Dinorwic quarry onto ships that would then export it all over the empire. Now a quiet and pretty marina, the locks provide boats haven at low tide and lead directly out into the Menai Straits.
