Frost in June
The scarecrows were a bit thin on the ground this year - there are usually far more entries. The theme was "weather", so this skinny man in scanty clothing on a corner just along the Old Road is Jack Frost, and I think he's rather impressively constructed.
It was another lovely, bright day which I would like to have spent gardening, but I wanted to bake cakes for a Monday picnic. I yielded to J's desire to make chocolate brownies, and also baked an apricot frangipane cake, one of my favourite easy cakes as it's moist and delicious but not too sticky or messy to eat with fingers on a picnic.
The day was marred only by the shooting, tingling pains and heavy dead aches right down my leg, which were horribly distracting. I don't think I've really had nerve pain before, but it's what I judged this to be. I hope it's not going to prove persistent.
