fourth

never been one for blatant patriotism but i do like fireworks and the nation's capital is a hotbed of over-american-ness. so we spent the day riding bicycles - about 25 miles or so. would've been longer, except we passed a beehive around mile 12 in a tree, and a rogue bee got inside of my glasses!

luckily i escaped unstung, but not before unceremoniously crashing my bicycle into the grass off trail trying to get the thing off of me. a little sore, a little bruised, a little scraped. but not too bad considering.

we went to watch the fireworks from the lincoln memorial - probably the best ones i've seen, better than grant park in chicago.
