A Monster
Off at 8ish and into the wind hoping to get through the locks at Fort Augustus. The wind really was keen, we motored then motor sailed, then had a cuppa tea just off Drumnadrochit, then we sailed. Boy were we scudding across that loch at a rate of knots, and at a very jaunty angle. Some respite from the 38mph wind on the east shore so we tucked in and motored a bit. Then the sails were back out once the shelter was gone, tacking to and fro for a few hours. The other boats seemed to be getting better with motor at this point, so as John turned on the motor, nae water oot the back, a shredded impeller ..?? Fixed and off we went. 9hrs later we arrived in Fort Augustus. All the boats were advised to stay down the bottom of the locks due to high winds at the top.
Out for fish and chips, beers and drams.. A brilliant day!!
