glorious day

What a fantastic day we had on the beach at Maidens. The warmest day I've had on a Scottish beach ever. We were meeting up with friends, Rhona and Paul, from Ayr, but bypassed what we thought would be a very busy beach at Ayr and headed on to Maidens. Beautiful blue skies and an almost deserted beach. Eve and James were in the water swimming and played on the sand for almost 4 hours, with not a thought given to TV or computer games.

On the way home at 7pm we could see Ailsa Craig, from where curling stones once came. Although the sky was blue, Ailsa Craig had a mistical look about it as the lower section was shrouded in mist.
