Mykonos

A tour of the Cyclades this year starting with Mykonos.
About 5 years ago we visited Santorini and stayed away from the crowded streets of Oia and Fira, full of day trippers from the ever present cruise ships docked in the Caldera.

It seems Mykonos is the new place to dock! This morning before 10am the streets were single file and jammed, yet just a street back and they were quieter.

In Lisbon a few weeks ago the locals were complaining about the over population by tourists. Hmmm, I'm beginning to think we need to take a step back and consider this, and by we, I mean me!

The Greeks I spoke to today welcome all tourists and admit that the season is short and as a nation they have very few ways of making a living, so tourism is very welcome.

Nevertheless, we will enjoy unwinding and recharging. We will just need to work harder at finding quieter places to do so. That said, a little bump into Jack Grealish would be perfect!!!
