Abbaye de Fontfroide

we visited this abbey near Narbonne today. I love cloisters and often wait for people to get out of the way to take a photo but it occurs to me that I prefer shots with someone appreciating them. I think they were after all designed for people to wander through and admire them. My extra is of part of the gardens.Traditionally there was a rose garden but like many in the area its being adapted for the changing climate and water shortages. There are still some gorgeous smelling roses though. Whilst we were in the abbey an old woman suddenly started singing and it sounded beautiful. I'd love to return for a concert but they sadly don't seem to co-incide with our trips out here.
