Snowdon Ascent
Snowdon Ascent
We were not feeling well and below par. Therefore we thought we might get the train up to the top of Snowdon. A £27 return fare put the 'Kybosh' completely on that !! So, even though I was weak from catching every horrible bug that Bangalore had to offer last week, and M was weak from catching my bugs, and even though it was 30 degrees in the shade and midday, we stoically decided to climb Mount Snowdon. This was true British fighting spirit and also took our minds off Andy Murray and his quest for glory. We thought we might 'jinx' him if we watched.
We plodded slowly to the top, even going through the clouds. We got there after many hours of painful steps and severe dehydration. The view was worth it, although the tourists arriving in bikinis and flip flops off the train rather cheapened it!! We even saw a mountain rescue from the big yellow Sea king helicopter watching someone being winched up. Respect...Prince William !
It was great coming down, then out for a meal and lovely cold pints of lager.
