Newton-le-Willows CC

A long ride out to the cricket this Saturday, 40 miles away at Newton-le-Willows. I had a choice of routes, deciding in the end for the hilliest, via Pateley Bridge, Lofthouse and Masham. There was a lot of sunshine but not a lot of warmth to enjoy. It's proving to be a very cold summer.

The biggest surprise was finding that a working railway runs through the village, the restored Wensleydale Line. Being in the middle of nowhere it was strange to think I could have got here by train.

The team is beginning to click. We enjoyed a good win, although I had to leave before the end to get back.
