We’re on our way to Scotland for Ray’s funeral tomorrow. The journey to Gretna Green for our overnight stay was so much easier than last time, but still very long.

As I scrutinised Sam over the evening pub grub the neatness of his eyebrows caught my eye. I knew he’d had a haircut but it’s also clear that his straggly Paterson eyebrows have been smartened up.
