Book Club

First I need to add a comment about yesterday's chimneys.  Enormous cylindrical chimneys , like those blipped yesterday are very common on old buidings here in Cumbria. It was the style,  not anything caused by the weight of the chimney. I have blipped others under the tag chimney-

And- back to Book Club-  with the obligatory cake. We discussed Calling Me Home- a tale of a relationship between a black boy and a white girl in 1930s America when such things were against the law. Cleverly told from the point of view of the white girl,  jumping back and forth in time.
We took away A Boy made of Blocks to read. You'll have to wait to find out what that's about.  The extra is the pile of books I read in the month outside book club,  that I am capturing for my record. It is nearly entirely crime. Belonging to a bookclub  makes me read outside my normal genre - as well as keeping an eye on PaulaJ's recommendations
