Blink & you'll miss it!

Wednesday, a day of a head being out of sorts and an afternoon spent trying to put it back in order, bimbling around the Peak District.

Biscuit took your Gal over the Snake Pass, turning right at Ladybower and climbing up to Stanage Edge. A spot popular with the climbing fraternity, a PE teacher took some of my class here to learn the art of not looking down on an end of term excursion week, along with Dovestones (nearer home) and Hobson Moor Quarry (even nearer home)

Extra 1 is it's southern reaches, or rather the askew view in Biscuits rear view mirror is!

After dropping down into Hathersage, beneath the railway and across the River Derwent a singletrack lane was taken, very much in the Shunpike fashion up into the direction of Great Hucklow. I have been walking not far from there a few times and from below have seen the windsock on the edge of the gliding clubs airfield.

Anyway, bingo, this little lane lead right past the clubhouse so a sign was followed to the viewing area - extra 2. Sipping tea from a flask, I spent almost an hour looking up and around. Have flown from here on the Xbox Flightsim but have never seen it in real life :-)

The air was chilly though so with that I headed home ... brrr!
