Sizergh Castle
The rain continued what seemed like all night and continued with spiteful showers until mid-morning and then the clouds rolled away and ...... The sun came out.
So out we went to take advantage of this new light with a good look round Kendal. I do like this town, a thriving town centre, great Farmer's Market, lots of lovely bespoke shops, one of which is the home of Luna Lapin, a rabbity/Hare made out of felt with a beautiful wardrobe, and which I have made many. The shop also has loads of the most wonderful fabric and gorgeous yarn. I was in heaven here but managed to curb my desires! We had a delicious lunch in a super cafe, Marre. Sourdough and pizza specialists but we enjoyed a spicy prawn dish with wonderful handmade sourdough bites for Mr HB and a Goats cheese and Pollo salad for me: goats cheese, Cumbrian smoked chicken with salad leaves, black olives, chillies and tomatoes with a very nice dressing.
The sun still kept on shining so we went off to Sizergh Castle, a NT property near Kendal. Beautiful old Castle with lots of history and beautiful gardens. Will try to add an extra for Flower Friday of flowers from the Chapel Gardens in Kendal and Sizergh. Thanks as ever to BikerBear ~Anni~ for hosting.
