St Martin in the Fields ..again

I met  A near Temple today to go through the last few queries we have on a holiday we’re planning for Autumn. As we walked from Temple to The Strand, I spotted this lamp post. I think it might be a Boundary marker but I can’t find anything out about it. The image is St Martin who is always pictured sharing his cloak with a beggar.
