First apples on our new tree…….
………are beginning to grow larger each passing week now.
It was planted in November last year, replacing the over 50 years old one which died last year.
These are Bramley cooking apples.
Hoping that we will be able to have enough to at least put into an Apple Sponge pudding this autumn
Here’s a link to the day it was planted.

Mad weather again today. Monsoon like downpours this morning, then some heavy showers, clearing around 2:00pm to higher cloud and sunshine. But I did hear a rumble of thunder a little while ago. Fortunately it didn’t materialise in our locality at least.
We’re currently sitting in the back room looking out of the patio window where we’ve been amused by the squirrel digging up what he tried to bury yesterday. He was very determined!
We have had lunch at our favourite pub and really enjoyed it.
Feels like a more “normal” day, whatever passes for normal.
Since then I’ve been trying on all my summer type dresses, four of which I bought on-line for wedddings just after the relaxing of the lockdown period in 2021.
There were still a lot of restrictions.
We had been invited to 4 weddings by then! Mostly people who had had to postpone their big days. There were two in autumn of 2021, when guests were still restricted and 2 in 2022.
There is another one coming up in July,
Next Saturday afternoon is the Hen Do!
It is Afternoon Tea at Fairlawns Hotel, so I’ve bought a tea dress from M&S on-line. It came today and I picked it up in the store,
It’s just perfect.
Nice to be able to get dressed up once in awhile!
I’m now going to download The Trooping of the Colour to watch later.
Just over a year since the Coronation and the Royal family seems quite fragile right now but determined to keep going.
I admire them for that, but hope that being “seen” in public doesn’t put too much pressure on them.
