Taking apart
Listening to the radio, watching the rain against the window and . . . taking apart - ties! Who knew they were such complex things.
I have an idea for a sewing project, but ideally it needs pieces of coloured and patterned silk. Silk is not something I have a lot of as it is so difficult to work with - you only have to look at it and it frays! I did bring some back from Thailand years ago but it is not really what I want.
Then I remembered that I had a bag of old ties from when a few years ago I at last persuaded Gordon that he needed to get rid of some of the suits and ties that he has had since he used to wear them every day and has not worn since. He kept enough to see him through the odd occasion when he needs to wear a suit, but the rest went to the charity shop.
Except that I kept the ties. I can't remember why I kept them, but I am so pleased I did - they will be perfect . . . when I eventually get them unstitched and taken apart.
