Sherrifmuir
Took ages to decide where to go today as weather kept changing its mind. Headed to near Dunblane as I thought that way I could avoid the rain but I got wet anyway.
This is Sheriff Muir. It is a large monument (The MacRae monument) that marks the loss of life of all the MacRae Clan that were in the battle . It was erected by the Clan in 1915.
Just 30 feet away is a smaller cairn funded by the 1745 Association marking the site of the Battle of Sheriffmuir in 1715
