Making a Bee Line........

......Straight for the centre of the flower. The bees and flies love this shrub, sorry I have no idea what it is, it's been in the garden forever and every year I give it a serious trim and it comes back, larger than life and full of these yellow flowers. I have still not seen any honey bees at all, plenty of bumble bees and flies but not a single honey bee. I have a large lavender plant in the front garden that is in full flower and it usually has masses of bees on it, so far there have only been a few and all of the bumble variety.
I chased a gatekeeper butterfly around the garden until I got too hot but it refused to pose for me, some you win, some you lose :-)
