Alnmouth.
Alnmouth became a borough in 1174, trading as a market and port. It changed to a residential holiday town in 1806, when a violent winter's storm gouged a new channel to the sea , cutting off one part of the town from another, thus ending its port facilities.
It is a quiet spot with a beautiful beach and sand dunes. I like the way that the houses all seem huddled together.
