Bologna again

We cycled to Lidl for provisions first thing. After a quick lunch we caught the bus to a big basilica outside the city centre , the Santuaria Madonna Di San Luca. Complicated history but built to house a sacred icon of the Madonna. 
Long colonnades run from the city several kilometres to provide shelter for those walking there we decided to take the tourist train as it was a bit hot!
I liked this curving staircase up to the entrance. 
We climbed the tower where LooseCanon freaked out at the height and I took photos over the beautiful countryside and hills surrounding the city.
A beer in the lovely foodie quarter back in the city before heading back.
