Special family fun

We’ve had a full and busy weekend. My son David flew up from Christchurch with his staff and enjoyed 6 hours at New Zealand’s National Field Days at Mystery Creek (in the pouring rain!)

David joined us here on Saturday evening and after an early start here next morning, we went across to Mary-Anne’s home where a 30 year old flowering cherry needed felling in preparation for ground works. David got straight into that while DrD and M loaded the truck with the tops(logs reserved for our firewood stock). Then DrD and I took that load to the green waste dump before returning to site where David and M-A loaded the logs on the truck. A quick lunch( M-A’s tasty cheese scones included)and we all headed home where Dean,David and Mary-Anne all set to and finished sawing, splitting and stacking all the firewood remaining!
Darcy very reluctant to say goodbye to his Uncle David!
